the Ryder Cup is one of the most prestigious competition's in all of sports, held every two years between teams from Europe and the United States. Unlike any other golf tournaments, this match-play event is very much a gloves off affair, with crowd's more raucous than anywhere else and players wearing their emotions on their sleeves.

the Ryder Cup was first held in 1927 and was between the USA and Great Britain, the competition expanding in 1979 to include all of Europe. This catapulted the competition into the true mainstream of world sports and has created an intense rivalry where drama, momentum swings and fan engagement are arguably higher than for any other golf tournament (not just an exhibition event Rory!).
